Our great organization is non-profit and has been representing San Diego Municipal, County, and Special Districts since incorporation in 1966 (the San Diego Chapter started in 1971). We are comprised of 11 Chapters throughout California, Arizona and Nevada with a membership of over 2100 (this includes the more than 125 members in the San Diego Chapter). Our members are public works managers, supervisors and the vendors, service contractors and consultants who provide us support.
Our members represent many vital areas of Public Works and they receive the latest information through our monthly meetings, annual conferences and trainings. We provide a venue to network with our colleagues, stay current with the latest practices and procedures, and stay current with the latest technologies in products, materials and services.
The Association is dedicated to educating its members. We provide scholarships, professional development and educational opportunities. We partner with Palomar College, Citrus College, Santiago College and Pima College with coursework in public works leading to certification and a degree.
Our current Board is comprised of many local experienced professionals and vendors. Please take a moment to view our website and feel free to contact any of our Board Members for more information.
Our general membership meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month and include a joint meeting with the City Engineers, administrative professional recognition, equipment and training show, golf tournament, training programs, scholarship awards, annual conference and holiday program. We also have several networking events throughout the year such as Sport Fishing, group baseball gatherings, etc.
The Maintenance Superintendents Association is supported by a membership comprised of Municipal, County, State and Special District employees who are responsible for, and dedicated to the cost effective maintenance of the Public infrastructure, and the vendors who supply them with the equipment, materials and technical support to carry out this vital mission. The Association is also dedicated to the ongoing education of its members and the dissemination of available safety procedures.
